Who is the coolest character in Stray Cat Rock: Sex Hunter? Who is the least cool? Why? Does their ‘cool’ factor make them likeable/more admirable to you? Why or why not? Do your best to work some of the Mulvey and Kelsky in there as well. If you watched Crazed Fruit and you’d rather talk about that, go for it — but definitely work in the Mulvey and Kelsky.
Mako is definitely the “coolest ” character in the film, mostly because of her nonchalant attitude, and bored confidence. I think theres something attractive about someone who doesn’t pay much attention to others and isn’t afraid to die. Theres something cool about the way she dresses, and ringleads the girls, and stands up for Kazuma when he is beat up.
Probably the coolest scene is when Mako learns of the Baron’s deception and is holds the knife up to him, and escapes by taking the bike.
In contrast, Kazuma is someone who cares a lot and has a goal, but is “cool” in a different way. Theres not much about him revealed in the beginning, as he appears before Mako singing. All we know is he is looking for a girl named Megumi, and he has a sense of justice, as he saves Ichiro from being beat up by the Eagles gang. He’s got a certain western flair that resonates with western audiences.
I think the least cool people in the movie are the Eagles gang members who go around terrorizing the hafu. Particularly as a women, it’s disgusting to see them treat the girls like property, boss them around and hit them when they don’t do what they want them to.
